Died Feb 23, 2004
We eased Simba's passing to the Rainbow Bridge on Feb 23, 2004.
He had been sick with Kidney problems for about 1 month. During treatment his test results
kept us hoping that he would recover enough to spend his summer here chasing the balls.
Unfortunately, when he lost his sight on the 20th and then he had a seizure on the evening of the 23rd, we decided he had told us his time had come.
Simba was never sick a day in his life, until the late 2003 and then he started to loose weight and his coat. At the time we thought it was all the girls in heat that kept visiting. Unfortunately, those two signs also indicate when kidney's are starting to experience problems.
Simba was on of heart dogs. He was King here. Stud Muffin Supreme. Everyone at visiting Islewind were greeted by his wonderful - love me and play attitude. There wasn't a lap that didn't have a Simba in it during his life with us.
At the time of his passing we had a litter of grand kids and great grand kids, one special girl has Legacy as part of her name in Tribute to this special boy.
We miss you Simba.

Died Dec 7, 2003
Died with almost no warning in Dec 7, 2003
Phantasee was never sick a day in her life, until the 7th of December.
She literally went downhill and died 7 hours after we discovered she was ill.
She is terribly missed by all of us dogs and humans alike here.
Her daily barking at the horses behind our house now is quiet. We always knew
when the horses were out because Phan Phan told us. Its been silent now 2 days as I write this. We are heartbroken.

Died Tragically in late September 2002
After she managed to find a hole in the fence
at her home in Louisiana.
She is the dam on 1 litter and is sadly missed by all of us at Islewind and Awawka.
